The district is the 8th largest in the nation, serving over a million meals every five days. Innovations such as district wide food tastings with students, coffee bars, golf carts, and food trucks lead to receiving many awards such as the Orlando Sentinel Award for Changing the Way Children Eat, Silver Plate from the National Restaurant Association, Jane Wynn School Nutrition Excellence Award, and the Florida Sterling Management and Sustaining Awards.
What I love about my work:
“I want to continue to work with school nutrition officials to serve students in the most innovative and exciting ways in schools.”
Fun Fact:
“I grew up on a farm in Kansas where 4-H was a family affair. Every year we would bake, groom our animals, and finish our garments for the Style Review and judging. My husband and I raised our three children as the 3rd generation of 4-H members.”
