Welcome, Christa Esparza!

We are thrilled to welcome Christa Esparza, who has joined our team as Administrative Coordinator.

Christa has a strong background in operations, hospitality, event planning, and education. She has more than 15 years of experience helping to open and improve restaurants and organizations by creating better systems, training staff, and finding creative ways to grow businesses both domestically and abroad. She specializes in designing and planning events, fundraisers, programs, and menus that showcase local ingredients and support local businesses. Bilingual in Spanish and deeply connected to her multicultural roots, she shares her background through creative designs, branding, and event experiences.

Christa is passionate about child nutrition and dedicated to improving school foodservice. She draws on her experience in the foodservice industry to help schools connect with local, nutritious sources and reliable partners, ensuring students receive high-quality meals efficiently, safely and in accordance with governmental standards. Christa graduated from UW-Madison with a BA in International Studies and Political Science.

A FUN FACT ABOUT CHRISTA:

“After living and teaching ESL in Mexico for six months, I backpacked by myself through Central America for 4 months, working on organic farms in both Nicaragua and Costa Rica and staying in a variety indigenous communities in the mountains of Guatemala and the islands off of Panama to learning about the local food, practices and sources and how that connects to the concept of their own cultural identity.”
